This morning we did not need to do any adoption related activities so we went to the pearl market and the pedestrian street to look around. We didn't by much but it was interesting to look around. Here are some of the sights we saw:
Pedestrian street
Holiday Inn Shifu
Animal market outside the Shifu
Herb market
Lots of creepy crawlers like scorpions....yuk
When we returned back to the hotel we were overheated so we went for a swim. I do not think Jinbao has swam often so he was a bit reluctant but it was a good bonding experience. Jinbao usually will not let me touch him and admits to Andrew that he is afraid of me. (and I didn't break any of the rules the kids gave me, I promise!) So he was able to let me hold him when we went swimming . Tomorrow we have a big day planned because we are going to the safari park. I am missing my kids at home. Although I am having a great time I am counting the days until I can see them in person again.
Thanks for following! Donna
I am enjoying reading your blog and journey!!!
ReplyDeleteWe stayed at the H.I.ShiFu back in October 2011 and spent many hours walking up and down DiShiFu Street. Such interesting things to see! Such happy memories. :o) Thank you for sharing your journey with us! I am so happy to see that you are doing so well. Enjoy your last few days in China - they'll fly by!
ReplyDeleteWell I am SOOOOOOOOO glad that I never got to see any animal markets on either of my trips - we did see them selling puppies on the corner of the street in BJ last time but I was in a car with my pal Wendy so I could not do anything anyway. You ready to come home now???? I cannot imagine how you feel without your kiddies there - I could not cope xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for allowing us to follow your journey to JinBao (I am Inge, from The NL, also on the yahoogroup Heilongjiang). I was thinking: if JinBao is afraid of you, it might help if your husband shows his affection for you openly, f.e. by holding your hand, cuddling you, kissing you. In that way JinBao sees that the person he trusts (your husband), is trusting you, so he might want to trust you too :-) Well, just give it time. I am so happy for JinBao that he has a Chinese father again. Isn't that wonderful for him! I wish you all the best.
