This emperor was lucky enough to have his empress on one side and his main concubine on the other.
Following the tombs, we visited the Great Wall. It's amazing to see how many young and old trek up the Wall and it is not easy! It is very steep and it was so hot the sweat just runs off you like you were in the shower.
This one is for Sensei....Moosey climbed the wall with us and we have a bunch more pictures of his exciting adventure. http://www.mooseysadventure.com/
The funny thing that happened was that every where I went, people were asking to take a picture with me so I did it to be polite even though I was all sweaty and dirty.
I made many new friends Sunday and Andrew got a big kick out of it. He had to keep waiting for me and it made the climb much longer.
After we came back into Beijing we just had enough time to eat a quick meal and board our train to Harbin. We travelled by soft sleeper train and it was a neat experience. There are four bunks to a room so we ended up having two other people with us. It was a young girl of 21 and her mother. She had just returned from Canada where she is a student majoring in English. She was so sweet and we had a great time having a wonderful conversation with them as she and Andrew translated throughout. Monday is Gotcha day!
Thanks for following! Donna
